One of the most commonly over looked method of carpooling, so to speak, is the use of public transportation. I know its not exactly "carpooling" but minimizing the number of vehicles making the daily commute to our campus is the goal. Public transportation is available to nearly anyone willing to navigate the bus routes at a price most can afford.
Benefits of Public Transportation:
Low cost
Don't need gas
"Green"
No parking permit
No parking hastle
Close drop off
With all those benefits, it's amazing there is any room left on busses.
If this doesn't convince you, an authority on the matter, Joe Ferrer, points out that by using public transportation we would cut down on "global warming." Finally, if you're commuting because you come from an extended distance don't forget about public transportation once you reach the city of Fullerton as a way to get out of paying for a parking permit, walking long distances to school, and battling for those parking spots!
Other students do it, why don't you?
